The Stone

Malachite is a copper carbonate mineral prized since antiquity for its vivid, saturated green and its unmistakable banded patterning. Formed in the oxidation zones of copper ore deposits, each stone grows its own unique arrangement of concentric rings, swirls, and eye formations — no two are ever alike. The deep, opaque green has made malachite one of the most recognisable and sought-after gemstones in the world for thousands of years.
